Backdraft
Technical Information
Calculations
As per regulation, mechanical ventilation requirements for smoke ventilation should be calculated to maintain a minimum of 10 air changes per hour. Due to the variation of extraction capacity, the backdraft ventilator is calculated to maintain 10-15 air changes per hour. The below extraction table is to be used at an average of 25km/h to determine the quantity of ventilators required.
Note: The Backdraft ventilator is not designed for Zone-controlled alarm activation smoke ventilation and only to be used as free-standing ventilators similar to fusible link smoke ventilators.
