Installation Method 1 - Back Flashing
Note: Each installation method will have different pricing
Base plate and back flashing option
Referring to installation method 1 drawing
- Clearly indicate positions of ventilators by marking the roof.
- Ensure that the area is safe with safety personnel before commencing installation.
- Clearly mark the cutout with the necessary marking equipment.
- Cut the opening with an angle grinder. The opening can be either square or round.
- Ensure all safety measures and procedures are considered and followed while commencing the cutting of the opening.
- Remove the cutout material with caution considering safety at floor level.
- Ensure that the cutout is to standard of the ventilator to be fitted. All sharp edges should be smoothed for the installation process.
- Ensure that the bottom of the roof sheet inside the building is smoothed and rounded off.
- Optional: Trimmers can be fitted as an option only at additional cost.
- Place the bottom plate of the ventilator over the opening, fix and waterproof it to the roof sheet by means of rivets or roofing screws.
- Place the back flashing sheet under or over the ridge cap and over the bottom plate of the ventilator.
- Fix the back flashing to the roof sheeting by means of rivets or roofing screws to ensure waterproofing is complete.
- Place the ventilator on the bottom plate. Ensure that the angle is adjusted according to the roof slope.
- Fix the ventilator to the bottom sheet by means of rivets.
- Ensure all locks and clips are secured.
- Check that the ventilator is rotating as per standard.
Installation Method 2 - GRP Soaker Panel

- Clearly indicate positions of ventilators by marking the roof.
- Ensure that the area is safe with safety personnel before commencing installation.
- Clearly mark the cutout with the necessary marking equipment.
- Cut the opening with an angle grinder. The opening can be either square or round.
- Ensure all safety measures and procedures are considered and followed while commencing the cutting of the opening.
- Remove the cutout material with caution considering safety at floor level.
- Ensure that the cutout is to standard of the ventilator to be fitted. All sharp edges should be smoothed for the installation process.
- Ensure that the bottom of the roof sheet inside the building is smoothed and rounded off.
- Trimmers can be fitted as an option only.
- Place the approved GRP soaker sheet over the opening, fix and waterproof it to the roof sheet by means of rivets or roofing screws.
- Place the ventilator on the soaker sheet. Ensure that the angle is adjusted according to the roof slope.
- Fix the ventilator to the soaker sheet by means of rivets.
- Ensure all locks and clips are secured.
- Check that the ventilator is rotating as per standard.
